High school sophomore Cam is a
maker—she builds an NFC ring
out of her school ID to tap and enter the building. She’s going to study
engineering in college too.
This semester she finally gets the
chance to take computer science.
She buckles down to teach herself
coding languages. At the same time,
Cam tries to ignore the boys (and the
teacher, it seems) who don’t believe
she should be in the class at all.
Then Cam and her best friend, Viv,
join the school RoboSub team. They’re
the only two girls, and they’re going to
the national competition. Can Cam
fight her imposter syndrome and
prove—most importantly to herself—
that she belongs?
An empowering girl-power read
about gender discrimination,
self-discovery, and finding self-
confidence, from debut author and
veteran educator Cait Levin.
